CPSC stop-use warnings span infant products, pressure washers and pool equipment
CPSC issued five warnings on 10 September covering CooCooBaby loungers, two pressure-washer brands, Flyboss infant bouncers and iGarden swim-jet drain covers, with no ordinary cooperating recall remedy described in several cases.
What the evidence says
CPSC warned that about 2,355 CooCooBaby loungers violated the mandatory infant-sleep-product standard because of short sides, an over-thick pad and a foot opening that could create fall or entrapment hazards. It told consumers to stop using and dispose of the loungers.
Le Hao Tool pressure washers, covering about 3,100 units, lacked a ground-fault circuit interrupter near the plug; CPSC said the seller had stopped honouring an April recall. HOTFINE pressure washers also lacked the protective device and had an inadequate-length cord. For both products, the agency directed consumers to stop use, unplug, cut the cord and dispose of the unit, and not to sell or give it away.
About 14,200 Flyboss infant bouncers were linked to 191 collapse reports; CPSC said 115 involved an infant's head striking the floor and at least 20 children received medical attention. Its iGarden warning concerned swim-jet combination drain covers that did not conform to entrapment-protection requirements and lacked required markings, service-life statements and instructions. Owners should follow each warning's exact stop-use and disposal directions.
Why it matters
The useful distinction
A warning without a functioning recall remedy leaves consumers needing especially clear product identification and disposal guidance. Infant sleep, electrical equipment and pool suction hazards demand different actions, so the notices should not be collapsed into generic recall advice.
