New Zealand recalls 2026 Can-Am Spyder models for dashboard software fix

A New Zealand recall requires a software update for MY2026 Can-Am Spyder RT and F3 models after dashboard failures created a crash risk.

What the primary source says

Product Safety New Zealand published the notice on 22 September 2026. It covers MY2026 Can-Am Spyder RT and F3 vehicles sold by authorised BRP dealers from 11 August to 2 September 2026.

A software communication fault involving USB or Bluetooth use may freeze, restart or blank the dashboard. Speed and warnings may disappear, and turn signals or hazard lights can temporarily stop responding. Owners should install the free instrument-cluster update as soon as possible, over the air or through an authorised dealer. The update became available on 16 September. This is the New Zealand notice’s scope.

Why it matters

The useful distinction

A vehicle recall can require software maintenance rather than replacement hardware.
