OPSS report flags Freeboy electric scooter listing removed from Amazon

A UK product-safety report records a serious injury risk after a Freeboy electric scooter listing lacked adequate safety information and conformity evidence.

What the primary source says

The Office for Product Safety and Standards published a Product Safety Report on 21 September 2026 for a Freeboy J01 electric scooter sold via Amazon. The report says the product was not supplied with adequate safety information, creating a serious risk of injury if a rider falls without the right protective equipment. It also records that a valid Declaration of Conformity was not supplied and that improvements were needed to the product and charger labelling.

The import was rejected at the border and Amazon removed the listing. The report identifies product codes XOD6518085 and JL-J01-260618, a GoJusin GJS150-5460200 charger and a ZFPO/ZF-2299 plug. This is a UK product-safety report and supply-chain action, not a statement that every scooter of this type is unsafe.

Why it matters

The useful distinction

Online shoppers should not treat a listing removal as proof that a product bought earlier is safe. Keep the model and charger details and contact the distributor if you need redress or safety information.
