JKMAX recalls heated blankets and pads sold on Amazon over fire and burn risks

US recall covers about 195,000 blankets and heating pads; CPSC reports 53 burn injuries.

What the primary source says

The US Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a recall of JKMAX heated blankets and heating pads on 17 September 2026. Their internal heating wires can overheat. The notice records 577 reports of smoking, melting or burning, including 53 burn injuries.

The affected products were sold on Amazon.com between September 2022 and July 2026. Owners should stop using them and contact JKMAX for a full refund. The regulator's notice provides the affected model numbers and identification photographs.

Why it matters

The useful distinction

A substantial online-only recall with reported injuries and a clear action for owners. This is a US recall; availability and recall coverage in other countries have not been established.
