Australia recalls Cambridge Audio Yoyo (M) speakers over lithium-battery fire risk

The ACCC recalled specified Cambridge Audio Yoyo (M) speakers after lithium-ion battery packs overheated and caught fire.

What the primary source says

The ACCC published a recall on 29 September 2026 for Cambridge Audio Yoyo (M) portable Bluetooth speakers, PRA 2026/21040. Affected models are C10930, C10931 and C10965; all serial numbers in the stated FD C109XX XXXX XXXX format are affected. The lithium-ion battery pack can overheat and catch fire during use or charging. Consumers should stop using affected speakers, disconnect them from power, complete Cambridge Audio's safety form and follow the refund and safe-disposal instructions. This Australian recall does not establish a UK recall.

Why it matters

The useful distinction

Model numbers and serial format provide practical checks for second-hand or cross-border listings; affected speakers must not go into household rubbish or ordinary recycling.
