Smyths recalls wooden Cornhole set in France over possible asbestos traces

A precautionary French recall covers the wooden Cornhole set sold by Smyths Toys. Testing found that the throwing-bag filling may contain asbestos traces; the notice describes the overall risk as low.

What the primary source says

A voluntary recall published through France's RappelConso system on 1 October 2026 covers the unbranded wooden Cornhole set, reference 233254 and GTIN 5390946117845, across all lots.

The licensed DGCCRF data records say testing showed that the sand-like filling in the throwing bags may contain asbestos traces. They describe the overall risk as low and the recall as a precaution by Smyths Toys. This does not establish that every set is contaminated.

The product was sold through Smyths Toys throughout France from 25 April 2024. Consumers are told to stop using it and return it to the point of sale for a refund.

The verified notice concerns France; no UK recall is established here.
