Amazon-listed YongnKids sand kit recalled over possible asbestos contamination
OPSS says coloured sand in a YongnKids craft kit sold through Amazon may contain a small quantity of asbestos; the listing has been removed and a recall is required.
What the primary source says
The Office for Product Safety and Standards published recall 2609-0148 on 30 September 2026 for the YongnKids Theme Scene Sandbox Toy Kit sold through Amazon. The affected product is identified by ASIN BODPQ5M3P3 and Amazon barcode X0026TZ9ZR. OPSS says the coloured sand may be contaminated with a small quantity of asbestos and the product does not meet the Toys (Safety) Regulations 2011. The import was rejected at the border, Amazon removed the listing and the local authority is requiring a recall from end users. Owners should stop using the kit immediately, keep it away from children and follow the official bagging, cleaning, return and local-authority disposal instructions.
Why it matters
The useful distinction
The ASIN and barcode let buyers check an online order or second-hand listing precisely. Possible asbestos contamination requires careful handling rather than ordinary disposal.
