UK border rejects Allegro A1 e-bike after OPSS identifies serious fire risk
OPSS reports a serious fire risk linked to missing conformity evidence for the Allegro A1 e-bike and charger. The import was rejected at the UK border; this is not a consumer recall.
What the primary source says
The Office for Product Safety and Standards published report 2609-0156 on 1 October 2026 for the Allegro/Allegrouk A1 e-bike, made by WuXi KeYu Electronic Technology Co., Ltd.
OPSS classified the risk as serious because conformity assessment and technical evidence did not demonstrate compliance with UK safety requirements. It also identified missing markings, instructions and safety information. This is a regulator assessment, not evidence that every similarly named bike has suffered a fire.
The model A1 appears on the carton. The charger is KEYU/KYLC165V55, with plug FY006A; the reported frame number is JFXC260400014.
The corrective action was rejection of the import at the border. The notice does not announce a consumer refund or UK recall.

Why it matters
The useful distinction
The report highlights the need for model-specific safety evidence when buying an e-bike or charger online.
