SHEIN rainbow sensory blocks recalled over possible asbestos contamination
OPSS says sand inside SHEIN wooden acrylic rainbow sensory blocks may contain a small quantity of asbestos; SHEIN has recalled the product from customers.
What the primary source says
The Office for Product Safety and Standards published recall 2609-0191 on 30 September 2026 for SHEIN Children's Wooden Acrylic Rainbow Sensory Blocks, identified by SKC sk26062823339701832428. OPSS says sand in the filled blocks may contain a small quantity of asbestos and the product does not meet the Toys (Safety) Regulations 2011. SHEIN has recalled the blocks and contacted affected customers. Owners should stop using them immediately, keep them away from children and follow the official instructions for double-bagging, wet cleaning if filling is accessible, return and safe disposal.
Why it matters
The useful distinction
The retailer's SKC gives shoppers a precise way to check order history. The official handling instructions are important because disturbing suspect sand can create dust.
