Gobi Heat rechargeable hand warmers recalled in the US and Canada

UT3053 rechargeable hand warmers can overheat and ignite; affected users should stop using them and follow the recall claim process.

What the primary source says

The US CPSC has announced a recall of Gobi Heat rechargeable hand warmers, model UT3053, because their battery and electrical components can overheat and ignite. The black-and-grey magnetic pair has USB-C charging and the model number underneath.

CPSC recall 27-009, dated 1 October 2026, covers about 5,500 US units and notes about 47 sold in Canada, with the recall carried out in conjunction with Canada. No incidents or injuries were reported. US online sales through GobiHeat.com ran from October 2024 to August 2026.

US users should stop using the warmers and follow Gobi Heat's recall claim instructions for a full refund or store credit worth the purchase price plus 20%. Follow the marking, photograph and hazardous-battery disposal instructions; do not put the device in ordinary rubbish or general recycling. This US remedy is not presented as a Canadian or UK remedy.
