Japan reports a fire involving a recalled SPICERR pressure washer
Japan’s Consumer Affairs Agency has reported a fire and one minor injury involving a recalled SPICERR SWU-1 rechargeable pressure washer. The cause remains under investigation.
What the primary source says
Japan’s Consumer Affairs Agency published a new incident notice on 2 October 2026 concerning a recalled SPICERR SWU-1 rechargeable pressure washer imported by SYGN HOUSE. A fire in Hiroshima Prefecture on 17 September damaged the washer and its surroundings and caused one minor injury, according to the notice. The cause remains under investigation; the report does not establish a confirmed cause.
The existing collection-and-exchange programme began on 4 August 2025. It covers models SWU-1 (JAN 4541408007384) and PHP-1 (JAN 4541408007414), with 88,710 units listed. This is a new incident report, not a newly launched recall.
The agency tells owners whose product has not yet been collected or exchanged to stop using it immediately and contact SYGN HOUSE for collection and exchange. The notice concerns Japan and does not establish UK recall coverage.

Why it matters
The useful distinction
A new incident can matter even when a recall is old. Owners must check the exact model and complete the existing remedy rather than assuming an earlier notice no longer applies.
