New Zealand recalls Narva Ultima wiring harness over fire risk

Product Safety New Zealand recalled a Narva Ultima wiring harness after overheating incidents including a vehicle fire.

What the primary source says

Product Safety New Zealand published a recall on 25 September 2026 for the Narva Ultima wiring harness used with Ultima MK3 215 hybrid driving lights (SKU 71744). The regulator says the harness can overheat while in use, melt, cause a fire or create a short circuit; incidents have occurred, including a vehicle catching fire. Consumers should stop using the affected harness immediately, not repair or modify it, and register for a replacement through the supplier's recall process. This New Zealand recall does not establish a UK recall.

Why it matters

The useful distinction

The SKU and compatible driving-light model give online buyers concrete identifiers for checking vehicle-accessory listings and stock.
