Mochi Malrang dumpling toys recalled over water-bead ingestion risk
LLK Trading is recalling identified mystery dumpling toys in the US because their water beads can expand excessively if swallowed.
What the primary source says
CPSC has announced a US recall of Mochi Malrang Mystery Dumpling Toys sold by LLK Trading. The translucent red glitter dumpling has a cartoon face and contains water beads; it comes in a tan bamboo-steamer-style container marked MOCHI MALRANG. No model number is stated in the notice.
About 480 toys were sold at Easy Wholesale in San Jose during July 2026. The beads can expand excessively after ingestion, causing intestinal obstruction, and also create a choking risk. No incidents were reported. Stop using the toy and contact LLK Trading for a refund, following its marking, photograph and disposal instructions. The notice does not establish a UK recall.
Why it matters
The useful distinction
A soft novelty toy can contain a hidden ingestion hazard when its water beads become accessible.
