Dollar Tree recalls electric balloon pumps over burn risk

About 360,500 model 406198 pumps are recalled in the US after overheating reports; customers should stop using them and obtain a refund.

What the primary source says

CPSC has announced a US recall of Dollar Tree electric balloon pumps, model 406198. The pink-and-blue pumps have a handle, two nozzles and a silver model label underneath or identifying packaging. They were sold from August 2025 to July 2026, including online through Dollar Tree and DoorDash.

The pumps can overheat and cause burns. CPSC records three overheating reports, including flames inside one pump and an explosion; no injuries were reported. Owners should stop using them and return them to a Dollar Tree store for a full refund. Online purchasers can request prepaid return shipping. The notice does not establish a UK recall.

Why it matters

The useful distinction

Online purchasers are included in the remedy and do not have to rely on an in-store receipt.
