CPSC warns consumers to stop using Bonnlo bunk beds after slat failures

The US warning covers specified twin-over-twin metal beds sold online; no agreed recall remedy has been announced.

What the primary source says

CPSC has warned consumers to stop using Bonnlo twin-over-twin metal bunk beds following reports of upper-bed slat failures. The black, grey or white beds have an attached ladder and measure approximately 78 × 41.5 × 65 inches.

About 19,000 were sold through Amazon, Abunda, eBay and Walmart online from January 2019 to September 2026. CPSC records nine slat-failure reports, including three upper-bed collapses onto the lower bed; no injuries were reported. It identifies asphyxiation and injury risks and says the seller has not responded to its recall request. Consumers should stop use, remove and replace the beds, and dispose of them rather than selling or giving them away. This is a warning, not an agreed recall or refund offer.

Why it matters

The useful distinction

Marketplace purchases can remain subject to official warnings even when a seller does not agree to a remedy.
